Creating an interactive experience of engaging surface textures, meandering lines, active colors, and evocative sounds, my work acts as an invitation to take a labyrinthine journey. It is a journey with origins in the natural environment that may arrive at an environment that is real, imagined, or somewhere in between. Utilizing ceramics, textiles, and drawing in a contemplative practice, repetitive actions of making forms and marks provides entry into a creative state, one which has kin in obscured memories and hypnogogic sensations - those experienced between waking and sleeping. By pairing sounds and visuals with manipulable sound objects, I seek to transmit a version of these states to the viewer-listener-participant.
